1968 - To his credit, Norman had seen the futility of the hippy dream earlier than most and penned this rocker to shake off his troubles. A frantic (and, let’s face it, imaginary) week in Las Vegas certainly blew away the cobwebs, but provided precious little long-term comfort. Or the answers he craved.

Lyrics by Wendon Davis
She almost made me cry
But I wasn’t a naughty boy.
She slammed the door behind me
And her picture hit the floor
She said that you were out
That I shouldn’t waste my time
She said there’s so much more
I can do in this world
So much more I could do with my life
She said, ‘now close the curtains
And don’t sit down on the fence’.
She said, ‘kick back and relax
And taste in the pleasures that we spoke of......’
High
High
Let’s get high!
Oh Yeah!
High
High
Let’s get high!
One look that said it all,
Her calling and her business.
An empty house, had to phone a friend,
‘My class she wants to witness!’
Activities were never ending,
Dancing and transatlantic flights.
She left her man, but not his money
On those long Las Vegas nights.
She said, ‘now close the curtains
And don’t sit down on the fence’.
She said, ‘kick back and relax
And taste in the pleasures I may have mentioned......’
High
High
Let’s get high!
Oh Yeah!
High
High
Let’s get high!
The Preacher there - he looked like a King
And a drive-through wedding is the real thing
We never knew ‘til one month later
When we unwrapped the candles
And the cocktail shaker.....
She said, ‘now close the curtains
And don’t sit down on the fence’.
She said, ‘kick back and relax
And taste in the pleasures that we spoke of......’
High
High
Let’s get high!
Oh Yeah!
High
High
Let’s get high!
